Prince Pulls the Plug on L.A. Hotel Gig – At least for Friday June 15

Hopefully they can figure out the whole contractual mess soon. Shoot.

“We got a bit excited, as did seemingly everyone in the music and celeb blogosphere, that Prince would be starting up a seven-week gig of Friday night shows at the infamous Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel.

Last we heard, the contracts were in the process of being finalized and the first show date was set for this Friday, June 15.

Yet a reliable HotelChatter tipster informed us that Prince will not be singing/cooking/playing jazz/shooting hoops with guests this Friday. Our source maintains that nothing is official in regards to Prince playing at the hotel, but everyone involved is optimistic.”

Jolie and Son Take $700 Shower

We saw this on the Daily Dish. That’s one way to promote a hotel, I guess.

Oscar-winner Angelina Jolie and her 5-year-old son Maddox spent more than $700 on Friday just to take a shower at a posh hotel.

Jolie and her son made a stop at Shutters on the Beach Hotel in Santa Monica, Calif., so they could shower and freshen up.

A source tells Star magazine, “Angelina said they only wanted the room for two hours — time enough for them both to take a shower. She was very sweet and seemed like a concerned mom.

“It was just very bizarre, when she and Brad (Pitt) own two house here in Los Angeles, that she would need to spend that kind of money on a hotel room just so she and Maddox could shower.”

Jolie and Pitt recently moved their family to New Orleans, La., where he is currently filming “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.”
